German football giants Hamburg and Hertha Berlin edged their respective rivals 2-1 at home on Sunday, availing both of them of staying in the race for the Bundesliga title. A Mladen Petric double has kept Hamburger in the title race. The Croatian striker scored both goals in the 2-1 win over Hannover 96 as HSV climbed to third.
Petric had needed just 63 seconds to open the scoring with a beautiful volley thanks to a superb cross from defender Jerome Boateng.
